Using Mindjet Connect URL in a tag !

Hello,

Is there a way to use a tag to redirect information to a Mindjet connect map ?

I am able to change the default map to a mindjet connect map but not specifically in a tag. When I do 'Send' it gives me an error.

I did a copy hyperlink from the main topic of the map inmindjet connect and pasted it in a tag.

I've just noticed that MindJet has released an update from MM 8 to MM 8.1. Does anyone, including support, know of any issues related to ResultManager and this MM update?

Combining Project Lists

When I create a dashboard (GTD and Sweep Up) I have different projects within the same map, but the dashboard makes it look like seperate projects. How do I filter the map so that all the projects in a single map branch out of a master project on the dashboard. This will help me since I have many projects within 1 map but still want to look at it on my dashboard as one main project.

waiting for/I owe tags from library #4

Hello,

Just "upgraded" the wf/io tags from tag library #4. (Commitments management). It always creates a new main topic for each person instead of grouping new items under the current one. So instead of just one John Smth, I get multiple.

The label is the same on each, as if the select:label function does not work.

Custom contexts not showing up on Dashboard

I added a number of contexts - for example the name of a person to signify "when I'm talking to ". However, any task tagged with a context I've added doesn't get added to dashboards I create.

Do I need to adjust a filter somewhere or use a different map?

Importing Outlook Tasks into Dashboard Maps and sending Tasks to Project Maps

Outlook sync is working great for me but I'm a little confused with how RM handles importing tasks from Outlook into dashboard maps and then moving them into project maps.

The documentation states:

"If you had tasks in Outlook that were not already present in the Dashboard, then MindManager adds them back to the Dashboard map on each synchronisation. They get added to the Central Topic by default. If you want to save them in your project maps, then drag the new activities to a Callout Topic that represents a Project or Result, or leave them attached to the Central Topic to have ResultsManager prompt you for a destination project map. You can't leave them lying around in the Dashboard map, as they will get overwritten the next time this Dashboard is regenerated.

"

The two things that break the workflow somewhat is that the tasks are attached to the central topic. If you have 20 tasks to import, it creates a messy map. Would be great if one could get the tasks into a branch topic instead.

The other things is how the tasks are consequently saved into project maps. Since the most logical dashboard to use is an Outlook sync dashboard, which suppresses call out topics, the only other option to quickly allocating tasks to project maps is by saving them one by one. When I was trying to import a number of tasks at once (over 20), I was hoping there might be a more efficient way to do it?

False Positive detection by CA eTrust, April 09

We are receiving reports of a false positive detection on GyroQ by the current signatures database of the CA eTrust antivirus software. The false detections started on 22nd April 2009, and relate to GyroQ software that was published in November 2008.

We have reported this to CA and hope that they will repair their database soon. GyroQ does not contain any malware by design.

This is a modern hazard of publishing software, and is outside our control. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

If you are affected by this, please let us know the version of the signatures database that your antivirus software uses.

Saved Queries in Dashboard maps & Filters

I have tried using 'saved' queries on dashboard maps and it doesn't work as well unfortunately. Sometimes it's helpful to run a filter on a dashboard and now it takes multiple steps to do and you can't use the 'saved query' feature as far as I know.

Mindmanager is supposed to save queries inside maps which complicates things. Whether I save the query inside the template, or on the destination map (which I have as a fixed map), it forgets the query upon generating the dashboard.

Would be great if templates could store queries

GyroActivator 1.6.0 error

I have recently installed MM8 with a professional version of GryoQ 2.0.1.11 on a machine running XP2.

When I press after inputting text into GyroQ, a second screen pops up asking me to "Enter a command sequence". The window banner says GyroActivator 1.6.0. How can I bypass or deactivate this screen?

Everything worked fine with the previous install of MM7 and GyroQ 1.9.4.

Sending Queue-Intermittant Error

I'm running:
Windows Vista Enterprise, MindManager Pro 8
trial of Gyro Q (GyroActivator v1.6.0) , trial of ResultsManager (if this matters)

Yesterday it seemed that I could only send the queue to MM8 if Mindmanager was completely closed. However when I went to write up a post, it started to work.. MM8 was open and the Daily Capture Map was displayed.
But today I'm getting the same problem.

GyroActivator v1.6.0 Message:

The sequence {pin:5055;send;run:queue:C%3A\Users\Bender\Documents\My%20Maps\GyroQ\GyroActivator-Queue.txt::_keepqueue_} returned an error:

Failed to launch or connect to MindManager 8
!Message from MindManager 8:

After hitting OK a second message box explains that it failed to send over the data and it may be caused by one of the tags and that I should discard the queue.

I don't want to lose my data and have found that I can get around this by closing MM8 then sending the queue.. so it seems that the tags aren't necessarily the problem.
I'm having problems defining a consistent way to reproduce this.

Does MM8 have to be closed? Seems like it shouldn't need to be, I like having it open for reviewing the dashboards or elaborating projects throughout the day.
If MM8 can be open, can the Daily Capture Map be open?

Does it need to be the current map displayed?
Does it need to be unsaved status to accept changes?
I save it as I go since I haven't moved anything out of it yet. Seemed like that might make a difference but I don't understand the logic for that)

Any guidance would be appreciated.

No Date Start Dates

Iam not sure what has happened to my original post about this that I created 24/03/09. But here I go again.

How come if I set a subproject to have a no start date, it doesnt show up in dashboard map? I have just dont a test and set some as no date and some with todays date and only the ones with todays date show up.

What am I missing here? I was sure I had done this before on on ther maps.

Any help appreciated,

I am using MM8, after reinstalling RM, I recieved error massage Unable to load "ResultsManagerRibbon.Connect" Add-In. This Add-In wil be disabled.
Any advice?

What is the difference between GyroQ editions?

Basically, GyroQ Pro allows you to create or use custom tags, such as those available from ActivityOwner. GyroQ Essential will only support the standard tags included with GyroQ.

GyroQ rejects its license key

Lately a number of users have reported that GyroQ is rejecting the license key that they purchased some time ago. The most common cause is that GyroQ 2 has been downloaded and installed over the top of GyroQ 1.

GyroQ 2 is an upgrade from GyroQ 1 and requires a new license key. GyroQ 2 supports MindManager 8, Mindjet Connect, and a list of other new features. The differences between the versions, and information on the upgrade process for GyroQ 1 users, is at

Dashboard Filter: How to filter for fields that have an empty Owner/Category/Area field

The customised dashboard I am creating needs a way to select all tasks that haven't been allocated to an owner.

I am using the owner field in a different manner, rather than just using names of people. (The owner/resources field is editable from more locations than the categories/areas field). You can edit tasks independently from an extra location with the 'task information' bar, which can be quicker than using Result Managers edit window. (you can't edit categories from MM's task information fields (at least...I haven't spotted how).

I'm assigning tasks to 'pages' (they could also be project names). Because I have over 10 different owner types I'm using, it's more elaborate to chain a number of 'NOT' statements. It would be much easier if I could select all the tasks with an empty owner field in one statement. How do I do this?

my current solution is to chain a sequence filters, it works like a sift: NOT owner1, NOT owner2, NOT owner3 etc until all possible owners are canceled out, I get all the tasks that have no owner attached to it.

There must be an easier way I'm overlooking?
Anybody with a solution?
